They're back.
The Denver Broncos officially started Week 1 of OTAs on Monday and almost the entire team showed up and was ready to work.
In the latest episode of his podcast Klis' Mike Drop, our 9NEWS Broncos insider Mike Klis starts by discussing the all but two players who were at the UCHealth Training Center for drills and practice this week. Some others were excused due to a variety of ailments.
Mike also discusses the QB competition between Drew Lock and Teddy Bridgewater and notes the Aaron Rodgers saga is still looming for the Broncos and other teams.
Next, Mike goes 1-on-1 with seventh-round draft pick Jonathon Cooper. The interview was taped before Cooper's ablation heart procedure, but they discuss the ailment because it's been something Cooper's had to deal with in the past. Mike thinks it could be a "red-shirt" year for Cooper and he might be on Denver's practice squad.
Mike then wraps up by discussing the early part of the Broncos schedule, and does think head coach Vic Fangio's seat could be a little warm if Denver doesn't get off to a faster start this season.

In the latest episode of his podcast Klis' Mike Drop, our 9NEWS Broncos insider Mike Klis starts by discussing the much-improved attendance for the team at Phase II of offseason workouts, as more than 70 players (including rookies) showed up at UCHealth Training Center this week.
Next, Mike goes 1-on-1 with second-round running back Javonte Williams out of North Carolina. They discuss Willams' impressive pre-draft test scores, family and parents, running style and his fresh legs after splitting reps at UNC.
Finally, it's a chat with Broncos third-round linebacker Baron Browning out of Ohio State. A lot of people wanted Denver to get inside linebacker help earlier in the draft, but Browning could be a steal considering they took him with the No. 105 overall pick.
Mike then wraps up by discussing the recent diversity hires the Broncos have made in the front office, including six recent ones, headlined by Kelly Kleine being named Director of Football Operations/Special Advisor to the GM. It's believed Kleine is the highest-ranking female executive in the NFL.

In the latest episode of his podcast Klis' Mike Drop, our 9NEWS Broncos insider Mike Klis starts off by recapping Denver's draft, including the decision to go with Alabama cornerback Pat Surtain II with the No. 9 overall pick. It was a controversial one with QBs Justin Fields and Mac Jones still on the board, but obviously that's not Surtain's fault. Mike sat down with the rookie for an exclusive interview.
Next, Mike goes 1-on-1 with the man behind the team's draft decisions in general manager George Paton. It was Paton's first time being in charge of an NFL Draft and he stuck to his board. Mike dives into his thinking.
Finally, it's a chat with Broncos head coach Vic Fangio. Mike asks him where Aaron Rodgers is after rumors swirled Denver could acquire the reigning MVP on Thursday night. Fangio simply responds with "who?" and then dryly tells Mikes "next question."
Mike then wraps up Denver's entire draft class and looks ahead to what a QB competition in training camp between Teddy Bridgewater and Drew Lock might look like. It's a loaded podcast with three great interviews!
